GreenCycle can handle most kitchen scraps including fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, eggshells, tea bags, and small amounts of food-soiled paper. Avoid meat, dairy, and oily foods as they can attract pests and create odors.
You can add material daily or as you generate it. The unit processes waste continuously, but we recommend adding no more than 2-3 pounds per day to maintain optimal conditions. The smart sensors will notify you when the bin is full.
Maintenance is minimal. You'll need to empty the compost drawer every 4-6 weeks and replace the carbon filter every 6 months. The unit is also dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. We provide a comprehensive maintenance guide with each unit.
GreenCycle has a 24-hour battery backup that keeps the system running during short outages. For extended outages, the unit will enter a low-power mode that maintains basic functions. We recommend unplugging the unit during severe storms as a precaution.
